Parking permits are required for residents and visitors during school hours on certain streets around Winston Churchill High School. There are street signs on blocks that require parking permits. The zones and times during which permits are required vary by street. There are four parking zones (blue, green, purple and yellow). Permits are only valid within one zone.

Residential parking permits for residents and visitors are issued by Montgomery County Department of Transportation Division of Parking Management. The cost for each permit is $20 per year, renewable on September 30 each year. While multiple permits are available for residents with multiple vehicles, only one visitor permit is issued per property. Residents must provide proof of vehicle ownership during the application process. Permits can be obtained:

  • by phone at the 24 hour help center, 855-510-3995, or
  • in person at the two county sales stores located at 809 Elsworth Avenue, Silver Spring and 4720 Cheltenham Drive, Bethesda.

Enforcement is performed by check on car tags, and there are measures in place to prevent abuse by students of Winston Churchill High School. More information is available here.
